December has historically been a strong month for crypto. The trend is expected to continue this year. While several altcoins could perform exceptionally well this month, analysts say these five tokens have the potential to outperform the rest.
Hyperliquid (HYPE)
Hyperliquid layer-1 blockchain launched its native token HYPE in late November. The asset has surged 180% in the past seven days despite intense selling pressure from early users who received free tokens via an airdrop.
Notably, HYPE’s market cap has hit $2.4 billion without any centralized exchange listing. Now, analysts expect the token to be listed in December, a move that could pump it further.
SUI
SUI, the native crypto of the Sui blockchain, is up 74% in the last 30 days. It is expected to go higher this month following a $200 token unlock on December 1st. According to several analysts, SUI has rallied after every previous token unlock, and they expect history to repeat itself.
Fantom (FTM)
Fantom developers are planning to introduce the long-awaited Sonic upgrade on the Mainnet later this month. This update is expected to enhance transaction processing speeds. Analysts say Sonic will renew crypto users’ interest in Fantom, thus boosting FTM’s price.
As of this writing, FTM is valued at $1.24, up 31% in the last seven days, according to data from CoinGecko. Can a successful Sonic launch push the token to $2? Well, that remains to be seen.
Aptos (APT)
Aptos is set to conduct a $135 million token unlock this month, and like SUI, the blockchain’s native token, APT, has performed well after such an event in the past. If the trend repeats itself, analysts see Aptos’ native token rallying above the all-time high of $19 before the year ends.
BONK
Solana meme coins are on the rise as institutional interest in this blockchain continues to grow. But that’s not the only catalyst behind the expected BONK rally in December. The creators of this meme coin have scheduled a token-burning event, which would see 1 trillion tokens removed from circulation.
If the event is successful, BONK, currently trading at $000042, could surge significantly before the year ends.
