On the Run is Offering Convenience

On The Run (OTR) has reportedly started to offer a platform that the commoners will be able to use to make payments using cryptocurrencies.

The OTR has launched a payment support facility for cryptocurrencies. For now, the service is available across a long list of convenience stores and petrol stations.

For now, this facility is available to the people living in Western Australia (WA), Southern Australia (SA), and Victoria (VIC). The announcement regarding the launch of the service was made on Thursday.

Collaboration between OTR, DataMesh, and Cryptoc.com

OTR has revealed that it has been able to offer cryptocurrency payment platforms at the stores in collaboration with two major entities.

These entities include a payment systems provider from Sydney, DataMesh, and a cryptocurrency exchange based in Singapore, Crypto.com.

Through the cryptocurrency exchange, the OTR has acquired the payment settlement layer, which is Crypto.com’s Pay Merchant service.

Whereas, Datamesh took the responsibility of providing the stores with the terminals that will be used for accepting payments in real-time.

Karl Mohan’s Remarks on the Recent Project

Karl Mohan, the APAC general manager at Crypto.com shared their combined achievement with the OTR and Datamesh.

He revealed that their latest project was the fastest accomplished one as it took them only 8 weeks to bring the concept to production. It was just 8 weeks back when they had the proof of concept approved and as of now, they are recording production.

Mohan stated that for now, they have a very small number of stores where they are literally testing their product. They have plans of taking their plans to the next level as they want to cover many stores in the upcoming weeks.
